I recently brought up JLT High boost CAI's with a tuner, after hearing that there were issues with them tuning properly.
I have the first version, I think. It is a carbon fiber tube which runs from a rubber fitting at the throttlebody down into the fender where it connects to the MAF and filter. There is a hose which runs from the bottom side near the fender up to the vent in the passenger valve cover.

He said that the problem had to do with a different version where the slot style MAF plugged into the tube itself.

Does anyone know any more than that? I'm just wondering if I understood him right and if there are problems tuning the version I have.

The issue was with the one that had the MAF right by the bend in the tube causing uneven velocity in the tube by the sensor.

If your tuner cant tune well or is lazy then yes the newer versions where you insert the MAF into the tube can be harder to tune. Yours should be no problem.
