How could I not tell them that I believe the defendant is guilty? If I don’t believe that we should not be there.
Incorrect. A murderer is guilty even if he never goes to trial. What you are trying to quote is. "PRESUMED innocent until proven guilty"Holy shit are you really a teacher? You are making the assumption one is guilty and therefore not a peer. We are innocent until proven guilty. The burden of proof is on the prosecution.
If I dont believe they are guilty I dont nor should any prosecutor take someone to trial. My burden is to prove each element of the crime beyond a reasonable doubt. that standard does not require 100% certainty because that could never happen. we could all watch a video of something happen lets say we have ten people all film the same event. they all show the same thing are you 100% sure it happened? What do you do if you don’t believe the defendant is guilty? Or aren’t 100% sure? Or the credibility of your star witness isn’t so great?
My experience was that they’ll still move forward with the hearing. And then it becomes about winning or losing the case, not about guilt or innocence.
I've been there, and I've witnessed it. The D/A or prosecution has a job to do. Some of the time you find a person that is more or less in a "win" mode. You become a number on their personal scoreboard. What do you do if you don’t believe the defendant is guilty? Or aren’t 100% sure? Or the credibility of your star witness isn’t so great?

I feel like 02GT is an honest guy. I don't see him as someone out just to have a huge stack of cases won. I believe he is doing a tough job the best he can.

I wouldnt have a problem serving if they compensated me for my daily wage, instead of the $18 gas credit I receive.
