Got a 2014 GT500. Anyone know what would cause launch control to become unavailable after reaching operating temperature? LC and 7k RPM turn on for a moment after engine is at operating temp, then goes unavailable. Available again after re-starting the car, but only temporarily. TIA.

From the GT500 supplement:
LAUNCH CONTROL Note: This feature is intended for off road use only where consistent acceleration is desired. It is not intended for cold, wet or slippery conditions. Launch control can be turned on and off with the LC button, or in the Track Apps menu using the 5-way buttons. RPM setpoint can only be changed in the Track Apps menu using the 5-way button. Detailed description of operation modes and recommended usage is outlined in the AdvanceTrac section. Launch control is engineered to be used with the original equipment provided on your GT500. Any modifications to the vehicle may adversely affect the function or performance. The launch control feature is integrated with AdvanceTrac® and the engine controls system to maximize traction from a standing start acceleration in a straight line. It provides a unique drag start traction calibration specifically designed for high grip surfaces. This feature lets you set and hold the desired launch RPM depending on tire temperature, surface condition or weather. To function properly, AdvanceTrac® must be ON or in the SPORT mode. If launch control is ON and traction control is OFF, then the system provides an engine rev control (two-step) only and no traction management. See the AdvanceTrac® section to identify the traction modes and recommended usage.

1st Post? Welcome to the forum. Any mods? Some mods mess with the factory setting which can screw with the Launch Control.

Raustin0017, thanks for the reply. Saw that portion referencing OEM in the supplement and am hoping my basic mods aren't causing the problem. Very basic mods. Borla s-type catback with o/r xpipe, FR CAI resonator delete w/airade filter, and JLT oil seperator.

And that officially brings me full circle with my first post LOL.

Do you have both keys? If you do try the other key , the previous owner could have disabled the launch control with the my key function.

If you are using a MyKey there will be a notice in the center screen between the speedo and tach stating that you are using a MyKey. At least that is how it is on the 13/14 Mustangs.

MyKey

PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION

MyKey® allows you to program keys with restricted driving modes to promote good driving habits. All but one of the keys programmed to the vehicle can be activated with these restricted modes. Any keys that have not been programmed are referred to as an administrator key or admin key which can be used to:
• create a restricted key
• program optional MyKey settings
• clear all MyKey features altogether.

Once a key has been programmed, you can access the following information using the information display control:
• How many admin keys and MyKeys are programmed to the vehicle.
• The total distance the vehicle has been driven with a MyKey.

For vehicles equipped with intelligent access (push button start), when both a MyKey and an admin intelligent access key (fob) are present, the admin fob will be recognized by the vehicle to start the engine.

Standard Settings

These settings cannot be changed.

• Belt-Minder. This cannot be disabled and the five–minute timer does not expire. The audio system is muted when MyKey Belt-Minder is activated.
• Early low fuel. Warnings are displayed in the information display control followed by an audible tone when the estimated remaining fuel in the tank will allow 75 miles (121 kilometers) of travel or less.
• Driver assist features, if equipped on your vehicle, are forced on: parking aid, blind spot information system (BLIS) with cross traffic alert and the collision warning system.

Optional Settings

These settings can be configured right after a MyKey is first created or changed afterward with an admin key.

• Vehicle speed limit of 80 mph (130 km/h). Visual warnings are displayed followed by an audible tone when vehicle speed has reached 80 mph (130 km/h).
• Vehicle speed warning of 45, 55 or 65 mph (75, 90, or 105 km/h).

Visual warnings are displayed followed by an audible tone when the preselected vehicle speed is exceeded.

Maybe a sensor is out? Check to see if it might be throwing a code.
Maybe throttle position sensor?
Maybe a random fuse is blown?

If you have a tuner, that should be able to pull codes quickly. Otherwise oreily or autozone, etc usually pulls codes for free

Forgot to close the loop on this one... Threw Clutch Pedal Position codes P0704 and P0830. Took it to ford and fixed under warranty. They also replaced my clutch and slave under warranty as well. Foreman there was a pretty cool dude.
