I’m looking for opinions from people who have traded a 2013/14 Mustang GT for either a 2018/19 Mustang GT or a 2013/14 GT500. Do you regret trading in your 13/14 for the car you traded it for? What are the pros/cons of the car you traded for?

I like the body style of the 13/14 which would be cool going the GT500 route, I get to keep that body style. But, I like the tech on the 18/19. The other thing too is just pricing them out I see the GT500’s and the 18/19’s are about the same. I’ve never driven a GT500 and to be honest wasn’t very impressed when I drove an 18 last year, the clutch release was way to high, but I believe the solution to that is to remove a spring and that’ll help with that.

My 2013 has a JLT and full exhaust so it’s not stock and feels strong. I guess I just have the car bug right now, but I’m interested in hearing from those who have made the jump to a different car.

I’m posting this in the S550 forum because I’m leaning more towards a 2019 PP1 car I found.

I just spent a weekend in a base auto 2019 10a 5.0

Got 25+mpg on a ~750 mile trip.

Clicked off a “12.7” @ “113mph” at 4200ft altitude on a back road with fords timer.

I think for $35k, you can’t beat a 10a 5.0

I had it on very tight fun canyon run and stock base gt suspension was great on the gt350 take offs the car was on (my buddies set from his last car.)

A base 19 5.0 10a on a sticky street tire is more car than 75% of people can extort on the street imo. Also launches and drives stupidly easily too.

I like manual and don’t confuse me as an auto guy. For a daily driver, a 10a 5.0 is perfect.

I driven and ridden in many gt500’s. Great cars, loads of theater, and presence. Definitely not a bad car, and it’ll handle well enough.

I had a lot of memorable fun in gt500’s over the years. To me they are more of a chevlle ss 454 or Charger Daytona Superbee. Loads of presence and great straight line car, still good in the twisties.

The 19 5.0 10a I just enjoyed is more of a boss 302 or camaro ss rs. Still quick in a line but much more fun around twisties

I had a 2014 Mustang GT i bought brand new.
I now have a 2018 Mustang GT i bought brand new.

The power difference between the two is BIG, regardless of what the actual numbers say.

Bone stock down to the paper filter my 2018 10r80 car went 12.4@116 in 3200ft DA. They are FAST in stock from. I did nothing other than add an e85 tune and the car went 11.6@121.

In between the 2014 and the 2018, I bought a 6000 mile virgin 2007 GT500 that i modded to 650 whp. Fun car for sure, but too heavy and too much of a torque bruiser that was done playing at 6700 rpm.

FWIW, my 2018 now has twins and makes over 900whp. I love this car and dont plan on getting rid of it any time soon.

Thanks for the replies. The 2019 PP1 I'm looking at is a manual. Won't be my daily and I really like stick better when it comes to sports cars. The car I'm looking at has all the safety features too which is pretty cool, my wife really likes that stuff in the Hyundai we recently bought.
My 2013 has some mods so it feels strong, it felt stronger than the 2018 we drove last year, but that could be due to the high clutch release that we're not used to on the 2018.
The 2013/14 body style though! I really like that body style.
