If it runs well and you can physically go look at it, drive it, talk to the owner, and drive it home when you buy it, then go for it. Somehow I think there's a bit more than meets the eye with regards to the quality of the car. Make sure you look the car over real well.

i just got mine for $4200 and its in much better condition than that one. yeah, any 16 y/o car will have its share of problems, but they can be fixed. take your time and when the right one comes across you will know. look at cars that are up to about $5000, most people can be talked down.

I'd like to eventually get a 95 5.0 as a daily, but till i can afford 2 stangs I'll have to make due with 1.

Steer clear of that car (first one on ebay)
Its converted to carb, it will never pass an emmissions test. The description doesn't make sense. It says its a 4spd manual. Dunno if thats a typo, but I should hope so. The car looks pretty butchered.. That monster tach in the cowl is pretty white-trash. You can do alot better for $3,800.

Clean fox body stangs are getting harder and harder to find.

It started as a 85. 85 is carb so it wasn't converted, looks like it was being set up for open tracking with the 4sp top loader.

I say as a track car to beat on for 3K it isn't bad.
But as a DD or street car look elsewhere.

I wouldn't buy it. There's too many out there in the 5-5500 range that are a lot nicer and more original.

OK so that one is not going to happen.

I have been talking to a guy on the corral off and on for a little while now about his. He is asking $4500 for his so I have been thinking about that for a while. Now that I will be moving back home for a little while (s/e Ia). Now he is considerably closer there than he is now. What do you guys think of this one. I really like it and it seems to be in great shape. The only thing that I'm not really into is the red interior, but I figure I can deal with it since it really isn't that big of a deal. My only criteria is it that it HAS to be a: GT, hardtop and a 5spd and that seems like that is too much to ask as it seems that most of the ones that I come across are either verts(allot of them are) not a GT or an auto. Anyway he is a link to the thread over on the corral.

so basically it has 180k miles on it and the guy did a paint job. Also it has porno red interior. And another problem i see with the price is that it is an 88. You could get so much better with 4500 bucks. I think your just in a big rush like you need one right now this minute. Be patient guy

Basically what is going on is I am going to be moving back home (IA) for a while and I have NO car so I kinda need one. I have been looking for about 3mths. now and that is by far the best deal that I have seen. I have been all over the net looking and for whatever reason I can't find anything that has a good body and clean interior. It seems like either the body is good and the interior is shot or the interior is good and body needs some work or is rusting. I like the car, but could do without the interior. It isn't enough to keep me from buying it, but if I could find another that was basically the same car for the same price I'd deff. go with the other one.
