[QUOTE="rightushook, post: 15923388, member: 65800"] I have owned a few 1911's and from that list here is my opinions. Sigs have a proprietary slide, which does not fit into standard 1911 holsters. I've owned one Sig 1911 and it had the most issue's in terms of reliability. I've had a few Springfields, one TRP and one Operator. The TRP was the best fit production pistol I've personally owned. The Operator was nice but had some area's that weren't fully finished. The plug on the back of the firing pin was not finished on the operator and loose ambi safeties was isssue on both pistols. The Operator was reliable with everything that was put through it, the TRP was finicky with certain Hollow points and I attribute that to being tightly fit. My colt CQB M45A1 has been the most reliable 1911 of all production pistols I have owned. However like others have posted their fit and finish does leave something to be desired. I wouldn't say they aren't worth it and honestly its my favorite pistol. In my experiences 1911's from all the production companies tend to be hit or miss. That might be an unpopular opinion but for every one good 1911 someone always seems to have an issue with another. I would say make sure to examine it before buying, if its used see if you can fire it. Magazines are the best thing for 1911's in my experience, usually Wilson or Tripp research have been the best for me. CMC mags give mine issues. If i am carrying a 1911, I'd be less concerned with how tight it is, and more so with its reliability. I'd shoot different hollow points until you find the one that works for that particular gun. I've also owned STI 1911's which are very nice, little pricey. I've heard great things from S&W PC 1911's, I just don't like all their markings they put on them. Kimber's are way overpriced for what you get, and I am not fond of a gun that the barrels rust just sitting in the case. Kimber is not what it used to be after their previous owner who cut corners.
