Looking for people who have had the "tick" fixed with the head swap

I am looking for people who have had the "tick" fixed with the head swap. My car is currently in the shop, and the head has been ordered and was ready to install, now they are telling me my motor was built after the time mentioned in the TSB.

Could the people that have had this swap done tell me the build date of there engine. This can be found on the DS valve cover.

Mine was built in 1/03/03

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As I recall, the TSB applies to engines built before 11/1/02. My car was built 5/02. Does your left cylinder head have blue paint all over it by any chance? TSB, (originally posted by COBRAJIM), can be found here.

My car was buit on 6/3/02.

Does your current head have blue paint on it? There is a cut off date in the tsb. November sounds right.

Mine is in for the tick and the engine date is 6/02. There is a cut off date on the TSB of 11/02.

Mine was built on 11/4/02 and has white paint on the head, 3000 miles modded and no tick, knock on wood.

I am pretty sure mine has Blue paint on it.

I believe Richard Juliano's had blue paint on his, but they still replaced his head and it fixed his tick.

Mine was built on 1/09/03 and it ticks just like the 1st motor that was replaced for ticking.(1st motor built around 9/02)

My car build date is 02/21/03 no blue paint that I could see and I have a tick.
