Looking to buy a cheap DD in the socal area

Located in Bakersfield, looking for a DD pickup for around $3k, doesn't have to look the prettiest, i just want something reliable to take back and forth to work other than the cobra. Would like mid to early 90's f150, toyota pickup, etc...

If you want a truck maybe look at a Ford Ranger, but go with 95 and up due to the electronic ignition and lack of distributor (at least on 3.0L -- dunno about the other engine choices). Better economy than the F150 too.
