if you are indeed getting for MPGs then do some math and see how many miles you have to drive in order for it to pay off, nothing like paying thousands to save hundreds

The 520 conversion kit probably hurts the mileage a little, but it seems to be on par with most 750's as far as mileage goes. I do ride it like a grandma though as I am a fairly inexpirienced rider.

yeah this is a pretty good point, never really looked at it like that. i drive about 32 miles round trip to work and back home.

i'd prolly spend more on a gas DD than just paying for the gas

i dont think so because if you are only getting 190 miles for 16 miles thats roughly 11 miles to a gallon if gas is as expensive as it is here then the bike would save you about $8 for every gallon because roughly 35 to 40 miles to a gallon and 11 miles to a gallon thats a 24 mile differents 2 gallons of gas just a thought

some math
dd gets 11.875 mpg
bike gets 40 mpg

now assume that he drives 15k a year
dd 15k/11.875=1263.15 gallons/year
bike 15k/40=375 gallons

assume gas is 4 dollars per gallon
1263.15-375=888gallons saved
888*4=3552 dollars saved a year

now factor in the price of bike plus insurance plus my calculations not including the fact that you have to drive it in all weather, and abandon the current DD.

I wouldn't do it just for the fuel economy reason, maybe a used 50cc or something for 2-3 grand.

you posted that like right when i did lol.

but what i was really considering was like a older civic or something along those lines for 2-3k. but as you said, i have to consider, insurance, maintance, etc.

so many numbers!! :read: lol

Nice bike! Considered the most 'perfect' bike out there. I love mine (along with the Busa).

Your 520 kit will actually 'help' mileage, but only slightly. Less weight means more efficiency.......unless you re-geared the bike, then it would be less mileage. Regardless, take that thing to the track every now and then. You'll have more fun there than any other thing you can possibly imagine, save for skydiving.
