Having a PCM issue so can't tune the car for awhile. Was wondering if throwing my LTs on would still be okay? I already throw a CEL from cat deletes...

You will be fine till a retune it will run a little leaner so I would avoid Wide Open throttle launches and racing it until you get a good tune on it.

Doubtful, likely be lean due to scavenging. Also, O2's will have to be delayed for accurate readings. Shaun of AED explained it all to me when I was getting tuned. Call and speak to some of the tuners before attempting something like that, it could possibly damage your engine.

I have first hand experience with this on my 2013.

It will be perfectly fine.

The new 5.0's run off an actual wideband to the ecu. It makes adjustments very accurately and will compensate just fine for the LT's. I ran my LT's with catless mids for over a month before I tuned it. I even put it on the dyno and it ran stock AFR at WOT. The wideband kept the fuel trims in line and didn't let it run lean or rich.

It is highly recommended to tune, obviously, but the ECU will learn the LT's.

I've had a couple very reputable tunes and have tuned it myself with HP Tuners as well.

Nothing to fear as long as the O2 sensors are all working.

Good luck with the Long Tube install! it was a PITA for me lol.

::EDIT:: Here is my thread for reference....

You'll be fine and no the car won't run lean.

Some tuners will tell you a retune isn't needed.

Actually, they did lol.

My 2009 Cobalt SS Turbo had a factory wideband. Was awesome to tune and got gobbs of power from very basic stuff. Ran12.8 on all season street tires. I miss that car.

I meant for the Vette and Caddi as well strange they would only do it on the Cobalt.

Thinks for info as I did not know that
