I am currently piecing together an air to air intercooler setup for a vortech T-trim. I plan on running 3" piping through out the entire system. I have a sct big air 2600 that I am going to use blow thru and the housing for the maf is 4". Is using a 4" to 3" reducer to connect the maf housing to intercooler piping going to create to much turbulance for a good reading with the maf?

Should be okay. It's pretty common for us to use a 90mm maf in blow through configuration. For instance I used a lightning maf on my procharger setup blow through with a 4 - 3 inch reducer on both sides. It was fine but pegged at 370hp.

I'm sure you already know but I would recommend a slot style and have a bung for it welded to your 3 inch pipe.

The sct claims to be good up to 600hp for a centri. I'm going to try and find a 3" housing for the 2600 and see how that works, but I will probably end up buying a slot style like you mentioned.

For a 2600 you'll need a flange for a tonsil style MAF.
