MAF screen w/9" K&N... keep screen in or out???

Any dyno runs comparing a 9" K&N w/MAF screen in place vs 9" K&N w/MAF screen removed? Understand that screen is supposed to level/smooth out air flow... but it does appear to be restrictive.

It is also there to protect against debris, animal or otherwise, from entering the intake and the engine. It is a must for a paper element.
