Today I was at the gym, finishing up a set and I look over at these two guys (probaly in their 20's) looking out the window at my truck pointing. I turn off my ipod to listen to what their saying and I hear them goin "man that things sweet" and "look at the exhaust." I go over to them and ask them if they like it, and we start talkin about it. I never really realized how uniformed people are of our trucks. One of the guys even said "that thing beats hemis!?" really shocked. I just laughed and told him that it dusts hemis easily.

So we go outside and I start showin them under the hood etc, and they are just amazed. Total shock as if I was drivin a ferrari just lookin at every little detail of it. There was a Hemi parked next to me and the guy goes, "thats a 5.7 Liter Hemi, and this truck can beat them? Dyamn"

Just made me feel pretty damn proud of my truck, and makes it worth the gas prices for stuff like that :pepper:

Similar situation I had last week at the gas station. Some Young kid said "Dad that's a Lightning made by SVT" then he said "That is A fast truck". His dad had no clue what my truck was and his 10 year old son knew what it was all about

This kid with a camera phone asked me if he could take a picture while I was filling up at the gas station. Truck was dirty as hell....then I balled it up shortly later that night. Oh well  Hopefully not too long til I'm back in the family.

lol, i had a guy that i worked with that was a pathalogical liar, and swore up and down he could out run me. he said, "i'll bet my paycheck against yours that i can out run you in my truck." i just started laughing, and said well how about this, i'll bet you a tank of gas that my truck will out run yours, and i'll give you 5 lengths and the go. after work, we went to a back road, with about 6 people following us that worked with us. lol, we had a damn casino following. everyone was betting, etc.

he took off, and i followed and easily pulled on him. i got up beside him, and slowed down and waved at him, then stomped the damn thing through the floor board, and left him.

after that he didn't say chit the rest of the summer.

oh yeah, he was driving a chevy avalanche, lol.

It does make you feel really good. You see it every day and forget how much work/time/effort you put in to make it yours and stand out from others. Layman's compliments are nice but when your at a show or something and another enthusiast, who knows what they are looking at tells you that it sits perfect or that's cool, it means much more. Either way I love my truck and don't care how much it costs to feed it.

Heh not all kids are misinformed... I've been loving lightnings since I first got a model of the '99 one. I never really knew much about the mechanics or anything but I did know they were fast. I noticed the exhaust came out the side and I fell in love. I never imagined I would ever own one.. *tear*... I was 10 back then btw.
