Does anyone else do this? I've been putting 1oz of TC-W3 in every 5 gallons of gas I buy for years... from the lawnmower to the cobra.

My experience: 10-15% gain in fuel economy, smoother idle, and better throttle response in the cars and trucks. Stabilizes fuel through the winter and keeps the carbs clean on the small engine stuff.

For a little light reading
Been testing Oil

I would be worried about the "cleaning" effect he described after continued use. Wouldnt that indicate that it isnt combustable and is heating up then removing carbon buildup through the exhaust port before burning? Any indication of residue in the exhaust? Have you removed the exhaust header or manifold to check?

Sounds like a good idea. I just want to see the science behind why it works.

Yes.. Ashless 2 stroke oil goes in my diesel tank every fill up.. 1oz per gallon..

Diesel and the ultra low sulphur
Removes the lubricants so 2 stroke oil brings it back

Its a ashless oil. It's just like a 2 stroke dirt bike they run clean as hell besides the fumes. But thats a strong mix. The oil at a slight dilution rate is very beneficial.
I normally use seafoam for the same thing.
Sea foam is good every once in awhile i run it through the vac lines and intake to clean the crud out. But the lubricants are not there. Sf is a heavy solvents that burns instantly. Leaving no additional lube. But will make a older car that hasn't ran in a long while run great.

Seafoam is 50% pale oil. lol But still don't use it in diesel engine oil.
It does the job just fine and has for me for over 20 years

Diesel and gas are 2 different things
I've been through this for years.
2 cycle oil in diesels is the "New age" thing.
For years we used transmission fluid.
Tranny fluid used to be .99c a quart.
Now it is too expensive.
I do still fill my filter housing with ATF when changing the fuel filter.

There are a lot of opinions on all of this,

2 cycle in gas will also not really help with moisture.
Stabilizing through the winter with 2cycle? Doubtful as I've come across many older outboards that had to drain the tank before cranking due to bad gas.
It will give some lubrication but that is about it IMO

There are other cleaners besides seafoam that will treat certian things but they are more corrosive/harsh with no oil contents.
Great for cleaning and moisture but no lubrication.
Hence why I've used seafaom for so long.

Basiclly
50% pale oil for cleaning and lubrication
30% Naptha for cleaning
20% isopropyl alcohol for moisture control and cleaning.

If you're from LA, you should know that down here "through the winter" means lasting 2 months instead of one. Lol

YUP. 2 cycle doesn't do much of anything for moisture.. I know to much of a ratio kills the cetane rating.. So I've heard.

Cleans injectors and top end of motor.

I run it throw vac lines on brake booster 1/3 can.
1/3 can in throttle body
Rest in oil.. Run it right before oil change

I'm pretty sure I would scare the shit out of myself if I tried that.
