I'm running a 3.4 whipple on 19-20lbs on pump with no issues. Anything over 20lbs u will need to run race gas or e85.

The motor can handle well over 700whp (dyno jet) when properly tuned.

I have had pretty much same set up as you with 20 lbs on pump gas and 23 lbs on VP109 & Shell URT. Like you will hear over and over its crucial to have a good tune/tuner. Made 779/778 with stick and 733/691 with auto on VP 109 & shell urt plus 22.5/23 psi. 730/700 with 20lbs, stick and 93 pump gas

there is no magical number, IMHO you start pushing the motor past the 650whp mark, you best be prepared to replace the short block, not saying it will happen, but once you start pushing and pushing the envelope, thing can go wrong. Remember these are your rods:

A lot has to do in how you drive the car. I beat the balls out of the car and it's daily driven. Motor lasted 26k miles, I burned a piston. A lot of guys only drive the car on weekends and in the warmer months. Higher than 17psi on 93oct, you're playing with fire. Talk and listen to the engine builders and tuners.
