He stopped going to hang out with friends, stopped doing sports, became irritable, broke up with GF etc.... I was the only person after about 6 months who still wanted to hang out with him. I would show up to his parents house and he would be chilling in his room or living room with all the blinds shut, sunglasses on and we both had to speak softly. Fast forward the next year when we had both started at different colleges his grades were suffering immensely and it was not for going out and partying. (something like a 2.0gpa) By this point parents taken him to EVERY possible specialist for migraine/cluster migraines. In the end they gave him two choices, pain killers, or a device that's similar to what they give Parkinson's patient where they hook up wires to you and it "scrambles" a signal in your head. Obviously the pain killers were the easier less invasive choice. They worked fantastic for about 6 months. Then they had to up his dosage because it was no longer effective. This cycle repeated for about a year and then his grades started to decline again, as the pain killers were no longer working. His body had built a tolerance to them. So back to the Mayo clinic they went! The doctors said we have to take you off the pan killers for awhile because your can't take a higher dosage. So with no pain killers for several months he had to drop out of school as the migraines were to much for him. A few months later he started smoking with a friend from highschool that didn't go to college. (classic stoner bum) Quickly he noticed that after smoking he would be fine for most of the day. So he smoked illegally for a few months and his parents obviously started to notice his health had improved and were more or less "hey, you're migraines are gone! Go back to school or get a job!". He told his parent what he had been doing and they were pretty pissed at first but ended up coming to terms with it. His parents eventually came around and helped him get a proper medical card. [QUOTE="bullitt2735, post: 15869734, member: 82002"] Yes, it works! I will admit I didn't really believe in the medical part myself when I was younger and just partook for the fun of it lol. But I can say without a doubt it saved my best friend. Short story follows. My best friend growing up always had bad migraines. (runs in his family) As we got to Sr. year in high school they started to become unbearable for him. My friend who was normally out going, talkative, and always wanted to go out and do something slowly turned into a recluse. Fast forward the next year when we had both started at different colleges his grades were suffering immensely and it was not for going out and partying. In the end they gave him two choices, pain killers, or a device that's similar to what they give Parkinson's patient where they hook up wires to you and it "scrambles" a signal in your head.
