I have a 2014 5.0 with a JLT Oil separator. I am still on the factory 5w50 (Track Pack) oil fill with 900 miles. I was cleaning out my JLT Oil separator tonight and the oil looked like it had some metal shavings in it no bigger than a grain of sand. I figured its normal for being a new motor, but wanted to see if yall think there is a issue with the car?

Plan on changing oil at 1k miles. Thanks

It probably fell from the media that separates oil from air. Not the actual oil that circulates through the engine

The shavings aren't copper in color are they? Copper colored shavings can be indicative of a spun main or rod bearing.

Not from the engine if its in the jlt. It collects oil vapor. Check the oil pan and oil filter for shavings
