Mickey Thompson Drag Radials:Changed my Boss/Video

I just added Mickey Thompson ET II Street Radials.

Went to Texas Motor Speedway Friday Night Drags. No timers/clocks, etc.
Win or go home. 1/8 mile on the Pit Road.

My Boss launched like crazy. On Pirellis I would have to launch at 1500 and hope for the best on the 1-2 shift.

Drag Radials for those who like to Drag Race, if you haven't invested yet, you will be shocked at the difference.

Launched at 22-2500; Bolted off the line, the car just dug in and the 1-2 and 2-3 was just as good. I won the Sportsman class and beat a nemesis; he beat me in the semi's and quarter finals the past 2 weeks. He has a 2014 GT will all kinds of mods; Auto/Drag radials. Friday night was completely different.

In practice I had a '13 Shelby GT 500 for most of the 1/8. caught me at the end. Killed a ZR 1 with a tune. I'm also running AED drag tune.

Here's a link to my YouTube for your perusal.

Yep -- I've been running Nitto NT05R's on my Boss for a while. AMAZING.

Exactly. Especially with all the power you are putting down.

I'm not going to do a blower
I'm not going to do a blower
I'm not going to do a blower
I'm not going to...........

so what kind of supercharger/Turbo you got?

Looks awesome. I'm throwing some on mine along with a dynotech ds when I get home.

The e85 tune runs great. It's a lot smoother and pulls noticeably harder than 91. If you have e85 in your area you should do it!

What size MT et 2s are you running on the stock wheels?

I have a set of MT et 2s in 305/35/19, just waiting for my Forgestars to show up some time this summer

Did you go with the Ford Injectors?

Same as yours. 305/35/19. I know MT recommends that you put on 10" wheels, but the guy I bought them from (Gear Heads Performance, Arlington TX) said they used them on 9.5" wheels with no problems. No problems with me.

Yeah those look good on the stock rims. Makes me nervous as my rear wheels are 19x11 so I'm worried they might be stretched. But since my wheels are never showing up I may switch to 20s and run a 315 nt05r for the street and a set of rts 15s with the radial pro for the track.

I'm putting down 600 to the rear wheels right now -- I should probably move to E85. I'm running ~9 PSI (on 91) . I'm leaving it to get an idea of the summer heat. So far... pulls a lot of timing and it feels fast in the morning and slow by afternoon (figured as much).

- Whipple 2.3
- JLT 127mm CAI
- JLT Oil Separator
- FRPP Super Cobra Jet TB
- Kooks Long Tube Headers (Inch and 7/8)
- Kooks Catted H-Pipe
- Kooks Side Pipes (with baffles)
- Stock Axle Back
- 9 PSI on 91 @ 13deg
- FRPP 47lb Injectors
- KB BAP (40 amp)
- Whipple 3.125 pulley (6 rib)
- Stock front tires, NT05R's in the rear (305's), stock wheels
- FRPP LCA Relocation + FRPP Billet LCA's
- CH Engineering K-Member Brace
- SCT Tuned

Those MT's you got there look like they have even more tread on them than my NT05R's.

Can't wait for E85 though next fall... hoping to be pushing 800 with 2.625" pulley.

Still need :
- Custom strut tower brace to clear blower
- 2.625" Pulley
- 2000cc ID injectors
- New Shifter (still misses shifts slightly when under full load)
- More suspension work
- Better front tires.

Can't wait for E85 though next fall... should be pushing 800 with 16 PSI. We'll see anyway.. if I can't hit 800 I'm selling the 2.3 and moving up. But I think I'll hit it on E85. Still need to make a custom strut tower brace for the motor that fits since stock won't clear blower.

Awesome Car! you ought to try the MT's next time you need DR's.

I've actually run the MT's before. I like them but got a better deal on the NT05R's and needed something quick (had a nail in my rear driver sidewall). Next time I may actually go to 18's and run some bigger rubber.
