mid pipe question

Dont know if this has been done before or even asked about. I tried doing a google search but couldnt really find the answer i was looking for. I will be purchasing a set of long tubes for my 02 GT and not wanting to spend the extra money to get a new mid pipe question is, has anyone ever tried cutting a mid pipe for stock manifolds down to work on LT's? I have stock manifolds now with a BBK O/R X. any help would be great thanks!

Im sure someone has that can weld and is good with custom exhaust work.....but a used mid pipe for long tubes can be picked up cheap anywhere and you can always sell your shorty...

I had a 2 piece o/r h-pipe before i went longtubes. I had an exhaust shop fab up a slip fit connector that could bolt to just the mid and worked fine. I dont think the bbk comes in to pieces tho.
