Misfire. Please help. 00GT

My buddy's 00 GT started missing on cylinder 1 about a week ago and I can't seem to hunt down the problem. I can unplug both the coil pack and injector on cyl. 1 and the idle doesn't change at all. I've swapped the #5 and #1 coil packs and injectors and it still misses on 1. I put all new spark plugs on it when it first started and they didn't help. Checked the voltage going to both and it's fine. Pulled the valve cover and everything is good there too. Yesterday he decided to just try a new coil pack so we put a new one on it, and it ran perfect for about 6 miles then it started back and we can't seem to get it to run right again.

Any ideas?

Check the cam position sensor. Sounds like a similar problem my buddy had

Same thing was happening to me. Replaced the cam position sensor and now she runs like a champ.

some intermittent issue could be going on with the wiring on injector 1 which may cause the coil not to fire. or the wiring for the cam position sensor. could be a faulty new sensor as well.
