modded RX-7 vs. modded '03 (new vid)

This was recently posted on a RX-7 board by the owner of the rx-7, so it should be pretty new. Here are mods for the 7:

ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN:
- cryoed 3MM apex seals
- Street ported
- hardened stationary gears
- ported coolant passages
- higher oil pressure
- Bonez downpipe
- Bonez midpipe
- thermal catback
- non seq stock turbos
- ASI front mount intercooler
- pettit AST
- fluidyne radiator
- profec b boost controller
- Greddy intake elbow
- turbo XS type H BOV
- pettit underdrive pulleys
- SX fuel pressure regulator
- 4 x 850cc injectors
- supra TT fuel pump
- ASI hard intake pipes (K&N filters)
- ACT s/s clutch
- Racing Beat 12 lb flywheel
- Microtech LT8 engine management


The list is pretty extensive.


No one knows what the '03 cobra has, so I was hoping maybe the owner would see this and let us know. All comments/opinions regarding this vid are welcome though.

I have noticed that downloads go extremly slow when over 100 stickers are on the car in the download. RX-7 in the title tells me there are 100+ stickers to download.

Short version:

Of course the race is from a roll. There is no horn signaling just counting :rollseyes . The rx-7 gets the jump and pulls. No one knows the mods of the Cobra. Only that it has exhaust.

When I downloaded it, it took about 3 minutes, which was acceptable to me. If people are downloading and waiting longer than that, I'd say don't bother, wait until it's less busy if you're still interested. I just wanted to see if the owner was here or not.

Alright, Im late to the reply, but every1 watch this vid again closely,
The 03 aint racin, at the very first of the vid he gives some juice,
And on these little races, basically its the other car just drivin off, the cobra isnt even trying except at the 45 second of the video mark, when the car is pulling away, the 03 gives it some gas and goes from almost out of the shot to side by side, im sorry, but an 03 isnt gonna taht kina torque curve and then go away lol
I think the cobra is just saying, trust me, you dont want none, and not wasting gas on a ricerace.

It's really not all that impressive of a video either. I think the '03 is racing though. It looked to me like the RX-7 lost some ground while shifting (listen to his exhaust note, you can hear him shift), but the '03 was still unable to pass. The RX-7 did have a lot of mods, and people familiar with them know they can be made pretty fast.

It's hard to tell with the video. I do hear the supercharger whine, but the guy doesn't seem to be totally into it. Who knows?

Hot Rod TV is on. I'm going to see what they're wrong about this week... Ooh, they're putting Nittos on a GT...

Yup, it's possible.

It would be cool if the cobra owner was on this site, then we could hear his side, along with any mods.

If I was going to race a 'ricerace' i would definately waste it on an rx-7. The third gen models are extrememly fast when modified. I ran a single turbo 93 here that was pushing 390rwhp....

The video looks like the Cobra caught up all the ground lost on jump, and then either missed a shift or just quit racing because of traffic! or maybe he quit right there because it was WAY to easy to catch him....
