California has lots of inexpensive homes out in the desert and central valley. Homes in LA, SF and San diego are expensive due to the law of supply and demand. Many people want to live in these desirable areas and the property than can be developed has been developed. Lately there are many condo projects coming on stream and the prices should start to fall. California is not uniformly liberal. Perhaps some noticed Gov. Schwarznegger, a Republican. Gray Davis, a Democrat, was not that liberal. The stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze....
