Brand loyalty is a funny thing. When I had my Shelby's, I was all about Ford and what they could build. No Camaro was worth it's weight in shit, was my opinion. Fast forward 2 years and about 5 cars later and I now have a 2015 Z/28. After I sold my last Shelby, my plan was to get a '14 GT500. Then I changed my mind and went Mopar. I really wanted a Hellcat, but didn't want to make a $60,000 mistake after never having owned a Challenger. So I bought a '15 Scat Pack. Nice car overall, and would destroy the '15 Mustang GT I test drove. But the damn thing didn't have any handling characteristics at all. So no way was I buying a Hellcat. I like cars that handle too much. Then one afternoon I drove about 2 hours away to a Chevy dealership that had a '15 Z/28 with a big $16,000 off on the windshield. Keep in mind, I have never, ever liked the new Camaro's at all. My Father, who is a die-hard Corvette guy (and recently traded his Z06 on an '11 ZR1) went with me and he about fell over when he saw how good the Z/28 looked in the flesh. I was amazed how a car that looks 90% like any other Camaro could look so stunning in person. Within 3 hours I was driving it home, and as God as my witness, this is far and away the best overall car I have ever owned. Every single thing about the driving experience makes you feel like a Trans Am racer. I've had 6 Corvettes, 2 Vipers, 2 Shelby's and one Challenger (to name a few) and driving the Z/28 is an experience you have to have for yourself and not take someone elses word for it. If the new GT350 can match that feeling while being a faster car then the Z/28, then Ford as hit a major, major homerun. I get the negativity some of you have for the Z/28. If I still had a Shelby, I'd probably be right here putting everything down about the car too. But, it really is an amazing car to own.
