MPEG Help

Not sure if this is the right place to put this but I've put this here so maybe some video experts can check it out.

My Sony DVD cam records on MPEG-2 format which cannot be imported by windows movie maker. I'm looking for something to convert it to something else so I can make a movie of some runs and such on our Cobra. I've got everything set up except for video feed such as a sound track, opening credits, yada yada.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some hopefully free software or helpful tricks?

Try this converter.

edit: Just use that to convert the video to .avi, then import the .avi into WMM.
