Need to know if a 97 Cobra needs the tach adapters for the MSD DIS-4 igniton box to work. Half the people say I need them and half the people I talk to say the 97 is the last year you dont need to use them. Someone who has the box let me know ASAP.

i have the dis-4 without the tach adapters. the car cuts out at 6k rpms. i called msd and they said i had to put in the tach adapters to raise the rpm limiter. didn't make too much sence to me, but I bought the tach adapters and hopefully they will be going on in a week. i'll let you know what happens then.
I beleive the DIS-4 has a rev limiter, not to undermind you but did you check that you have that rev limiter in the right spot?
On the '98 cars you had to get tach adapters. The 96& 97 cars you didn't need them if you bought a MSD for those cars before sometime in 1999. I was then told by my tuner that MSD (probably to make more $$) made the DIS 4 require tach adapters for all 3 years..
