If you have a Rebel then you should be able to do real HDR....

If your camera has auto exposure bracketing then it will be really easy. I have a D40 so I dont know about the XT. Might check your users manual.

Here is a quick blog post that will explain way better than I ever could how to do it

http://backingwinds.blogspot.com/2006/10/how-to-create-professional-hdr-images.html

If you need any more help Ill be glad to help out

If you dont have Photoshop then you can download Photomatix which is a HDR program

This is the most recent pic I have.

Use the pic in my avatar...please.

feel free to crop it a little too.

I am not very computer savy!

I appreciate the effort of the geniuses I constantly see on here.

-open a new window in your internet browser
-go to www.imageshack.us and upload the file, if you haven't resized it (made it smaller from what the camera took) select the 'resize image' option and make it either the message board size or for the 15" monitor size.
-click upload and wait for a bit (it will take a while if you have 56k or its a large file)
- copy the line of code that is next to the "Hotlink for forums (1)" (it should look like "http://img255.imageshack.us/........"
-paste the code of the pictures you've uploaded directly into the box you can type in
-post!

hope that helps, let us know if there is any confusion

The only thing wrong with this picture is the flag pole. Looks like it is stuck in the hood

Took a stab. step by step method used in one of my old threads... "how to 'fake' HDR pictures" or something like that. The photography purists really turn their nose up at this stuff, but who cares. Sometimes it comes out neat, sometimes it comes out like ass.
Great pics man!

the photographist purists have nothing against what you are doing, it's just not HDR so people get irritated when you call it as such.

It's the equivalent of having one of these

and saying "I like my BOV"

It's fine if you like it but don't call it what it's not.

Yeah, I know you're right. I should have clarified what I meant. The thing is, anybody can tell when an HDR is legitimate vs faked in 99% of the cases. They're a fad, but they do stand out from the faked ones. The cartoony pictures are kinda fun though, we see cars all the time how they are, its fun to see them how they're not sometimes :rolling:
