You described the typical scenario owners are getting into and blame the trans for the problem.

1. Clutch problem causes pedal to stick to floor as it isn't releasing properly due to pressure plate bolts backing out.
2. Peddle assembly replaced as a "remedy" for the pedal sticking issue.
3. Car has clutch replaced however the trans is already toast from improper clutch engagement.

People blame the transmission because it ultimately fails in the end due to the clutch.

This is a scenario where the symptom is treated, not the cause.

Resolution:

1. Aftermarket clutch.
2. 75w-90 gear oil for trans fluid.
3. (not mandatory but recommended) Replace the stock shifter.

The clutch I have sitting in my garage is a very serious sintered iron puck style clutch. This is why I am apprehensive on going ahead with the install.
