Well I was wondering what the valve covers would look like polished with a lil paint. Grabber Blue and old Ford Blue almost match up. Took me about 5 hours and they could use another touch up and some 6000 grit. Here they are.

Just in case anyone wants to do this themselves........
I started with 80 grit to get the powder coat off, moved to 220, then to 320, then to 600. I got them somewhat shiney before adding any paint. Keep in mind unless your real good with a paint brush or got the time to tape things off.....your gonna need time to dry so you can hit it one more time to get what you got onto the vanes off. Over all it cost me less than 30 bucks and 5 hours in time and looks ten times better than the dull ass powder coat.

You did an excellent job! Not everyone would take this on themselves, and yours came out great. Very nice

Why not just send them to Brian (The Powder House) and have them powdercoated with your choice of colors? Or, he can "polish" the areas you want as well. Just got mine done a couple of weeks ago. I think they turned out great!!

BTW did you paint your blower? I hate the damned color of mine..... Was thinking about getting a Steggy show polished Snake Bite lolz.

No, the 2010 was the last year GT500 to come with the black blower and cam covers..which I actually like better than the 11/12 and current color combo.

I sent off the Eaton blower/plenum on my 01 Lightning to Steigemeier for a port and show polish back in about 2005. He did a great job..well worth the money IMO if you show regularly as I do.
