I agree. Most of the time, that's what I do as well. I have another buddy who just bought a 97 GT Vert. It's stock performance-wise. I drove it, and it's slow. But he goes around telling everyone how fast it is, and that he'll keep up with me. I caught up to him one day, and in front of his friends, offered to race him. Right then and there. For $100 and I said I'd take off in 2nd gear... He wouldn't do it. Punk.... Another guy at work has a 96 or 97 V8 Camaro he's always talking about. There were a couple of hard core Chevy guys out there at the time, and they got me riled up saying he'd beat me. So, we lined him up at lunch. Everything was cool, until I hit second gear. I lost traction, and went completely sideways. Luckily, I was already a full car length in front of him, it looked like I did it on purpose to the "crowd." The next day one of the Chevy found out I had a couple of mods. (pullies, gears, exhaust, nothing major) and said "Ah, that's the only reason you beat the Camaro." LOL FOOLS!!
