nail in the tire

i found a nail in my front tire close to the out side sidewall, i need to drive to LA. it slowly goes flat, should i get a can of fix it flat. what should i do? Tire is on order for tomorrow.

Don't put fix-a-flat in there. Can you go to a tire shop and have it patched? That is the best way to do it. From my experience it doesn't work very well. You could drive on it, but I would worry about the nail coming out.

can't patch it if it's near the sidewall. i'd replace it sooner than later...once punctured, moisture can get in between the layers and cause tread separation

just use a can of fix a flat it will do the job until you can replace it.
