Nasty First

I got a 98 CSVT about 3 weeks ago and 1st gear sure likes to be a bitch to get into sometimes I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and what they used/did to fix it.

Is it just first gear? Has the trany fluid been changed?

Yeah it is just first gear I'm not sure when it was last changed I got the car from Carmax. I would imagine they would have done it but I my be wrong. I am taking it in to them so they can look at it sense i have the warranty.

the 99+ IIRC have upgraded internals.

Now you lost me I just started getting into cars. So I still have a lot to learn.

From my understanding Ford revised some internal parts on the 99 and up MTX-75 (the Contour/Focus/Cougar Manual Trans)

BTW where are you in VA?

Yeah I read about them doing some upgrades to the 99+ but I ran into a 98 first so I jumped at the chance to own one. I live in Sterling it is about 20 minutes from Leesburg. Seems like more people know Leesburg more.
