need a better daily driver (which to go with?)

Picking between a subaru 2.5 gt legacy or a volkswagon gti for a daily driver.

just not sure on the gti's gas mileage.

which would you go with? or do you have another recommendation.

btw my daily driver is an 01 pathfinder. I don't want to get rid of it, but the gas mileage is alittle annoying.

personally I would say scoob, I think unless your a little dude the gti is a little small inside, I'm thinking about upgrading my taurus since they don't do all that bad on gas and I do around 30,000 miles on the highway a yr.....BAH

My daily driver is a VW, and no question that it is good on gas and has an engine that won't quit no matter how I abuse it. I however am planning on going with a subaru or some other awd car for my next beater. AWD comes in quite handy in the winter, and my wife is sick of me stealing her SUV when it snows. You live on Long Island, so you know what I mean. My vote goes to the scoob.

My daily is a base model focus. 34 mpg with an auto. Slow, to be sure, but that's not the point of a daily driver.
