Backstory. Basically my speedcal is draining my battery. No I dont wanna disconnect the battery every time I put it up for a couple of weeks. I want to wire a o. Off switch between the speedcal and the cig lighter. Any help would be appreciated as I am not an electrical expert.

I also would be willing to wager it is the speedcal. Mine will drain my battery if I leave it for a week or two. I just always leave my car hooked up to a battery tender if it is going to be sitting a while..

Ya..i guess the cig lighter is constant on for the 96-99.

I ran my speedcal through the traction control.

I would run your speedcal power through some other switched fuse using a piggy back fuse holder in that slot. Maybe the unused convertible top fuse...i think that was the one that I used to run my cigarette lighter//armrest power later..

I use my power seat connector as constant 12 now...

Any switched 12v source should be fine. The switched 12 for the radio is probably the easiest.

I had the same issue of dead battery after the speed-cal install. After I swapped the power to a switched 12v the issue went away. I used the Radio's switched 12v source.
