Ok guys - looking for opinions - i am in process of getting new rims and tires - im getting fr500 Anth. - my question is do i go with 17 or 18 inch rims - in researching i have seen that the 17x10.5 for is not recommended for a 99+ cobra with IRS - where 18's dont show any problems - i am looking for a little wider to fill out fender well more hence reason i was looking at 17 so i can go with 315's - where the 18's recommend 285's --- any thoughts on this subject welcome - want feedback prior to dropping $ on it

you can do 295/35 on 18x10s w/o a problem. People also 315/30 on 18x10s, but they only make a select few in that size that arent drag radials and they are $$$$. 17s are cheaper tire wise and have a few more 315 street tire options, but i dont think 17's fill out the wheel well enough IMO.

I'm running a BFG KDW2 295 35 18 on a 10.5 rim. The BFG's look a little small but I was sold on the tire's performance and looks. It depends on the manufacturer but 18 X 10.5 with 315's look awesome.

If your only going wider with a 17 as opposed to an 18, then go with the 17 and slam it!

That they do but Damn that rubber is expensive. Go take a look on discounttiredirect or tirerack and compare the prices between 18" and 17" rubber. If money's not a factor, go with the 18s

That is true, tires are so expensive nowadays, a tire costs more than the whole damn wheel.

I'd never get 17's on a 99-04 Mustang. Or any other mustang for that matter.

BTW, I have a set of 295/30/18 Falken FK452s sitting in my garage, not even half worn, they fit my 10" saleen wheels just fine. Let me know if you are buying 18's and want them.
