Took the 96 to T&T today just to go out and have some fun. It was on the pump gas street tune (17-18psi). I really was not expecting to get a best time as I was running with more weight then ever. I usually pull the passenger seat (40lbs), but left it in, and I added the roll bar (70 lbs).

The weather was OK, but there was a pretty strong headwind.

As much as I dislike running a DR on a manual car, I wanted to see how it would do with the same tires I use on the street. I made 2 passes on the 275/60/15 MT DRs and I was not happy with them at all.

I set them to 17psi, did a medium length burnout and launched at 4500. It felt like it hooked hard for a moment, but then the supension unloded and it spun for a split second and grabbed. the rest of the pass was clean except for what felt like a little clutch slip in 4th. Also with a shift into fourth not too far from the line that probably killed ET some (28" radials and 3.55gears FTL).

60 ft: 1.68
330: 4.64
1/8: 7.07
MPH: 101.91
1000: 9.14
1/4: 10.91
MPH: 127.04

The next pass was a 1.78 60ft with bad clutch slip on the 3-4 shift (it didn't feel like it picked up any speed in 4th). 11.21 @ 125:nonono:

With a long cooldown. I bolted up the slicks (26x10x15).....set the pressure at 12psi, did a burnout, launched at 6k and the car ripped out of the hole pretty hard and nailed 3 fairly quick shifts. The clutch seemed fine on this run. I was expecting a 10.7 or maybe a 10.6. I was really supprised to see 10.47@131

Here's the slip:
60: 1.48
330: 4.330
1/8: 6.68
MPH:106.18
1000: 8.75
1/4: 10.47:dancenana:
MPH: 131

So with the difference in weight and gear, along with a pretty nasty headwind last night, I didn't expect to pull off an NPB...

My previous best on low boost was a 10.59@134. (100lbs less weight then now, 3.73s compared to 3.55s now, and cool february weather) I think that the 60ft was a mid 1.5.

My immidiate goals for the car have been to hit a 1.3x 60ft and beat my all out best of a 9.93@142 (1.43 60ft). That was on the high boost race tune. Ive been planning on pulling quite a bit of weight and swapping to a 28x10.5 SS ET drag with 3.73's (from 26x10 ET drags and 3.55s). My goal is to hit a 9.6 once I yank some weight and faceplate 1-4th gear in the t56.

Now I want to see how quick I can get it on the street tune. The 3.73's and 26"s will be optimal for the low boost set up. After the planned weight reduction and addition of a faceplated gearset, I'm pretty confident I can knock off a 10.2x on low boost (If I can get the chassis dialed in enough to pull a 1.3x 60ft)

Thanks everone! I'll be heading back to BMP on 4-10 for the need2speed.com Dead Hookers 12 track rental. This time I'll be trying to beat my best race tune time. Hopefully I can get the suspension dialed in.

Congrats , great passes  I'm planning to hit the track in next couple weeks to see if my little 2.2KB can get me 10.50's running street tune.
