Does USPS still offer a pension retirement? I'd love to double dip on 2 pension's one day, Military and USPS. I could retire at 62 and have 2 incomes and social security...

Go civil service like I did instead of USPS. Better pay & benefits and your military time, especially if any was in a combat or remote assignments, can be applied to your civil service and give you a leg up on other civil servants who have never served.

thinking the cost of living from CA to NC is significant.

and Folsom, CA is a very nice area east of Sacramento.
