I feel like car still has a decent amount more in it with working out the bugs and practice.
First time ever raced on anything other then hard street radials and got faster every pass but ran out of time.

Cool down was about 45 mins between each pass, no ice or fans or anything.

Mods in sig.
Rear tires were MT stiff sidewall slicks 28/10.5/15 on 15x9 holeshots with 15psi
Weight reduction other then SRA and rear wheels was front sway bar and sparetire/jack removed

First pass
1.87 60ft
7.72 @ 89.5

Second Pass
1.782 60 ft
4.94 330 ft
7.10 594 ft

7.605 @ 89.48

Final Pass
1.727 60 ft
4.88 330 ft
7.05 594 ft

7.556 @ 89.32 <<<<< PB

Best MPH on street tires is 91.5, I was told I need some 26in tires instead as the 28s seem to big for the amount of power I have.

Going to try again in a couple weeks with rear issues fixed.......

What track was this at? My 04 cobra I had that Scott at intune tuned, ran a 7.70 at 96 mph on 315 sumitomos with a 1.88 60'. Only difference was I had LTs and a 2.76 pulley. It put down 430/452 on Scott's "heartbreaker" dyno. Good runs none the less.

Congrats on the new best! Anytime you can hit the track and get one is a good day.
No, you can get it done with the 28's. I ran a bunch with 26's and 28's and got decent results with both. Your tire pressure is probably a little high. May want to consider 11-12 psi. And launch RPM's are your friend with full slicks. You have the potential to be cutting consistent low 1.6's at worst with this setup.

This was at Brainerd right into GA, those numbers are very impressive for Scotts dyno. My car only put down 402 and 428 but shortly after my dyno tune I started blowing blue smoke when I start the car so pretty sure I hurt a ring........my mph sucks compared to most upper cobras I've compared to so I don't know what's going on.

I was told by a friend that the car looked like it was falling off after the launch, he said it was because of the tires and 26s would be better. I have 3.73s but I'm not very high in rpms in third crossing the traps. I did notice tire spin on the final run after watching the video so I will try lower air pressure next time. Thank you for a good range to try. My launch can use a lot of improvement for sure, I know its got atleast a 1.60 in it once I get my new upper bushings and can try to leave harder. I think I was about 4500or so on the 1.72 launch

Hmm, my buddy's ported cobra is blowing blue smoke on start up too and has to be down on power b/c I walked him pretty bad from a 45 roll. I was expecting a loss but I prevailed. Hopefully you can get your issues worked out and get that mph up. Scott is the man when it comes to these cobra's so I'm sure he can find your problem.

Yeah, it's an adjustment going from drag radials to slicks. Totally different approach. My first time on slicks I got in 5 runs and my 60's went from 1.87 to 1.74 to 1.64 to 1.62 to 1.59. Just kept lowering the tire pressure and raising the launch RPM.

I haven't taken it back to him since I noticed the issue. I did all the work on my car except tuning it, I need to do a compression test and leak down test when I get a chance

I have never run on anything other then 18in bfg kdw2s lol so yes its very different. A 1.59 60ft your first time is not too shabby lol. Mine would have continued to improve I'm sure but no idea by how much. Hopefully I will find out before the local tracks close, and get to a 1/4 track

Yup, the truth. I run my slicks at 10psi and launch at 5500-6000rpms.

It has this weird effect on my front tires lol!

I'm gonna put the tires at 10 and try for about 5k next time, hopefully won't break anything major.

Congrats on the PB!!! I would try another track to see about the MPH. Nice passes though should be around 95-97MPH.

I'm gonna try a full 1/4 track in a couple weeks and see how it does there

Good passes, mph is a lil low tho. Id def look into getting um 26 in tall tires might help it some

I plan to try some 26s if I can get my hands on some before the tracks close, if not I will next year.

Got out to the local 1/8 track again last night on slicks and skinnies. Left lane mph was wrong so they didn't run mph but that does explain why my previous passes were only 89 mph.

First pass
1.681 60ft
4.900 330ft
7.034 594ft
7.517 @ 93.32mph

Made a couple other passes and bogged really bad. Can't figure out how to leave on the slicks. Dropped tire pressure down to 11 and tried leaving between 4500-5500

Left lane, no mph
New PB
1.690 60ft
7.466

Here is a crappy cell phone video of the 7.46 pass. I realized after watching the short burnout that this was also a hot lapped pass. No cool down, ice or anything.

Let me know what you think.

Good times and the mph now matches the et, not sure what kind of 1/4 time you was hoping for but that's an easy 11 second pass.

I'm gonna keep working on the launch since it needs a lot of work. Once I can get off the line ill take it to a 1/4 track. Closest one is about 2 hours from me.

I'm hoping for a 7.30 pass once I can learn to drive lol

Went back out again. Made 8 passes in about 2 1/2 hours so after my first pass the car was hot the rest of them.

Tried slipping the clutch out and always resulted in a very lazy 60ft but no bog.

According to the track my first pass was a 7.41 with a 1.74 60ft, i dont believe the time though as the track timers have been unreliable lately. mph was 91 and no 330ft timer to compare

then my last pass of the night hot lapped i cut a 1.66 60ft which is my best yet but only went a 7.47

Let me know what you guys think, still cant figure out why i cant get faster times, i know the car has it in it

Congrats man times keep dropping every time you go out!

Thanks man, my goal for the year was to beat your time and Justins stock upper time even though I have a good amount more done you guys have a serious driver mod over me lol

If I can get another 1.58 60ft when the car is cool and do everything right I think its got a 7.19 in it as it sits but who knows if ill ever get it.

Hitting a 1/4 track on the 4th so that will be the true test
