Hey Guys Ive never posted here but just brought a new project home and thought id throw it up here and see what kind of thoughts and advise you all have for it
Its a 79 notch that was originally white with tan interior, at some point its been painted black but is starting to peel in places but that wont be a huge deal as i manage a body shop
From what i can see there is no rust, body is very clean and is actually fairly straight for its age
The kid i bought it from owned it for a little under a year, the man he bought it from had told him he had about ten thousand on a rebuild on the 302 that was in it (was originally a 4 cylinder car), along with an rv cam, and stealth intake. Also i got a Edelbrock 650 that the kid before me had bought for it.
It is backed with a four speed tranny (yes the toploader srod that i've heard isn't very strong :s) but supposedly had a king cobra clutch put in at the same time.
Along with this, at some point its had a five lug swap done, i was told has the 8.8 out of a newer fox in it, newer wheels and he believes 3.73s
I know its not as nice as most of the cars on here but I got the whole package for $400 so im hoping with a little time and money ill be in it for a decent price. Im planning for it to be a weekend toy, and was advised to look at decking the heads ten thousandths, oversized valves, the stealth intake, the 650 edelbrock and a healthy cam..what do you guys think?
