New thread question

I was wondering how do I set it to where all new posts show up with the mark next to the post.
Currently it's like it only tracks them for the last hour or something.

The new posts are in bold print, older ones are in standard font.

Correct, but if I don't visit the site for a few days and click the little arrow to jump to the newest post it will pass up post that i know I haven't read.
