I decided to try my car out at the track last night with my drag radials for the 1st time on the new setup. The car is an 04 GT Convertible 5spd with a comp 106100 cammed 04 Mach 1 motor and procharged on 6lbs. MV Performance did the install of the blower and tuned it. The car they said made 420ish on their mustang dyno which they say its roughly 460rwhp on a dynojet which i don't agree with but idk. The car also has 4.30's and the rear drag wheels I put on are 15x10 with a 275/50/15 MT drag radial. On my street tire setup on the rear (17×10.5 FR500's with 335 Goodyears) the car has been 12.1 at 114mph with a 2.0 60' having to let off just before the traps. Thats one reason i disagree with the car making 460ish on a dynojet because it should run out of gear before that. Anyway here are the times from last night...

1st Pass:

60'-------1.844
330'------5.146
1/8-------7.788
MPH------94.7
1/4-------11.988
MPH------115.10

2nd Pass:

60'-------1.848
330'------5.127
1/8-------7.771
MPH-----93.18
1/4-------11.981
MPH------111.96

Here are the vids... http://youtu.be/e5we_0pLNu4

This was with me letting off about 1/2 way between the 1000' and the traps so it had more in it def but was running out of gear...

What were the rpms going thru the traps? What do you shift at? Was it on the limiter going thru the traps? Try a 275 60. Your car should 60' a lot better then that with that much gear.

Congrats on breaking 11's!

Congrats on the 11s!! I have seen a Mach 1 at our local track with a procharger and he consistently runs 11.8-12.0. I think he traps around 112-114 as well so you are right where you need to be. Either put a bigger tire on the rear or swap out to a 4:10 gear and I bet you will be in the 11.80s.

^ x2. I'd deff go to a taller gear, 3.90's with your setup would be sweet. Plus would have better highway manners.

Some more practice on the launches and getting the proper gear in it I bed you'd be right in the mid 11 area at closer to 120.

What were the RPM's? You have a Mach 1 motor right? Isn't your redline around 7000? I'm guessing your going thru the traps around 6400, sounds like the 4.30 are just fine.

congrats! with those tires, gears and your stick axle I think you will probably be whittling a little more off those 60s soon!

edit: oh I though a 275/50/15 was a 28 inch tire... yes I agree with the others and think you should put a 28 inch tire on it with those gears!

I have a shift light and its set at 6500 and thats where i shift because the bottom end is not forged. The shift light was coming on right after the 1000ft. so i was letting off and coasting through the traps.

I would just let it rev but if you are scared put a 28" tire on it.

Ignore the light and let it eat! Easy 11's... Bump your shift light to 6800 when your ready to go mid 11's :)

The motor wont live long doing that. Its still a stock bottom end. Of course i would do it in 1st gear. Im just gonna either throw 4.10's in it with the new tune or just go ahead and get some 275/60/15's

Congrats sir! Since you have a stick car, going to a full slick would benefit you a lot more than a drag radial. You would get a better 60 foot and that would mean better times!
