one of my genius friends enlightened me the other day.

"you can give a "cop" the finger as long as your hand is inside the car"

i find this extremely hard to believe, not that i would do it because i dont think it is true, but it would be interesting to find out if there is any truth to it, or variation on it.
truth?

genius friends?

Or idiots trying to get you to take the bait. Why would this be a debateable question? Yes, I guess you have a First Amendment freedom of speech/expression....but the officer has the right to stop you and find out what in the hell you're doing...and in so doing..cite you for EVERY single infraction he finds...and Lord help you if your license, registration, insurance isn't up to date...not to mention that check of your ash trays for roaches....that leads to an arrest, search and impoundment of your car...Get the picture?

There are a lot of things in life you can do. Exercising good judgement is something [read maturity] you better do...or life can be a real bitch..

Oh..the sticking the finger out the window may get you a disorderly conduct [lewd gesture] type of arrest here...but I haven't seen anyone pull a dumb stunt like that....and be sober.

I think I read about this exact question on this forum. You can stick it up in your car and you will not get a summons for it .....but I would follow Jshen's advice and avoid doing something that stupid. I don't know about where you live in NJ but where I live (Middlesex county) you would have a police escort following you around everytime you passed a cop if you did that.
