what is the usual punishment for having an x pipe with no catalytic converters. i saw somewhere on here that its 10k per cat maximum fine by federal govt or something. but what do you guys usually do when you pull someone over for that. i cant imagine its ALWAYS a 10k fine

$10K is the Fed. fine. A local officer isnt going to write that violation. The state violation you are interested in varies from state to state.

That fine is typically aimed at the business but is applicable to both depending on the circumstance.
