I thought it was true, but I've read where that may not be the case. I would also like to know. BTW I don't have a front plate on my Cobra. :-D

I have never had a front plate on any of my cars.

The one Mustang I did'nt have one on I was pulled over constantly for not having it. Gave me a warning twice and said that I would get a citation next time.

I had mine off for 2 days and I got a warning...so yeah it's on. But as soon as the time comes where it's ok for it to be off...it will be.

They can lick my balls, I'll never have a plate bolted to the front of my truck. If anything, I'll do what I did with my Camaro after being hassled about it: suction cup it to the lower passenger side windshield.

I don't have one on 2 of 3 vehicles I own. The law states it must be on the forward most part of the vehicle (know a few guys who ran them on the dash/windsheild and got tickets/warnings before).

Maybe I should mount mine below the bumper cover on a hinged mount that's always folded up (and out of the way) and if i get stop I'll say I do have a plate and get out and go swing it down. Make up something about going over a speedbump must of pushed it up or something. :)

Statute doesn't specify "forward most" just states "Front"

502.404. OPERATION OF VEHICLE WITHOUT LICENSE[0] PLATE OR
REGISTRATION INSIGNIA. (a) A person commits an offense if the
person operates on a public highway during a registration period a
passenger car or commercial motor vehicle that does not display two
license[0] plates, at the front and rear of the vehicle, that have
been:
1) assigned by the department for the period; or
(2) validated by a registration insignia issued by the department that establishes that the vehicle is registered for the
period.
(b) A person commits an offense if the person operates on a
public highway during a registration period a passenger car or
commercial motor vehicle, other than a vehicle assigned license[0]
plates for the registration period, that does not properly display
the registration insignia issued by the department that establishes
that the license[0] plates have been validated for the period.

I have to agree with this. After getting hassled continuously about not having a front plate on my Camaro, they said it was fine to put it in the windshield. "As long as it's visible" is all they cared about.

I got pulled over for speeding a few nights ago. He did not give me a warning or ticket for the missing plate (it was under my seat), just told me to put it in the front window because his buddy was a few miles down the road and liked to write tickets for no plate.
On a side note, the cop was really nice and wrote me up for only 20 over.

Only been hastled for it one time and got a warning. I drive by them all the time these days and they usually have more important things to do.

Close call for ya Tracy. How's the car??

That's the problem, the cop can say he couldn't see it. Sure you can go to court and fight it, but to me it's not worth the hassle, so mine's on there.

I was long overdue for a ticket...lol! I'm counting my blessings that the cop was nice and wrote me a ticket I can take DD for.

The car is sick!!! 614/544 SAE, 17* timing, 18psi, heatsoaked and all! Drivability is better than stock. The guys at HPP did a fantastic job.

There are always going to be asshole cops out there somewhere looking to find ANYthing to get you for. Most of them are cool and don't give a shit about a front plate. I'll take my chances. :D
