Got the 08 6.4 Super Duty out of storage to pull my trailer down to Tim Barths location in Hampshire IL. to do one dyno pull because of a previous theft of my X4 tuner by Modular Power House in Rockford IL. and the replacement tuner needed to have the tunes for 93 and 91 octane reloaded. Anyway, washed the truck, and while I was hitching up the trailer I noticed the ATC wasn't getting cold, wtf. Started checking things and thought it may have lost it's charge. The clutch was engaging but there didn't seem to be any compressor noise, crawled underneath with the engine off and turned the clutch plate by hand, no resistance. Nuts, the compressor shaft is toast, need a new compressor, and this looks like a fun job, it's buried on the R/F of the engine. Here's the kicker, 5700 miles on the truck.
Now that I'm retired I'll just take my time, it looks like I'm gonna need it.
