Speaking of, did you see the initial report of the Mig23 that recently crashed at the airshow in Michigan? Apparently the back-seat observer initiated the ejection sequence for both occupants. Sounds like the PIC wasn't even ready to bail. Lol

Yup, think the back seat observer made the right call.. they punched out pretty low, well below the rating/envelope for those old russkie ejection seats.. I think the back seater quickly saw they were out of time and energy. The pilot maybe got 1-2 full swings from his chute before hitting the ground…
