I dont know if this is true or not, but, I have been told that the DMV can put something on the title (or what ever legal document) that the car has XXX miles prior to the gauge swap, then you are ok. I have never looked further into this cause I have no reason to replace my gauges, so I do not know. This is an interesting topic, and would like to find out what I have been told is correct.

Oh, and i was told this for the state of PA.
