My '97 has 214,000 miles on it now. I know it's a tighter clearance engine, but at this point should I start using 10w30 instead of the 5w30 that I have been?

I'd personally say continue using what you have been. If the motor lasted 214k with your fluids and service schedule and TLC, then no reason to change it now. Congrats on a high miler 4v!
Probably the right idea. It does blow a little smoke at the top of 2nd if I really get on it.

I change my oil ~7k with 7qts of any 5w30 synthetic I find on sale, with a top off at the half way point. Then run MMO before the next change.

Just 6 qts of high mileage Castrol every 4000 or so miles. No marvel mystery oil though.
high mileage cobras must survive in Oregon. I've got a 97 also with just under 195k.
