Oxidization On Aluminum

What is the best way to get off the white powder looking oxidation off of aluminum this is on the engine of a ls1. Thanks

wire brush, or if possible, remove part and wire wheel. My KB inlet and Alt. has it, planning on removing this week and wire wheeling, then sand, polishing and clearing it.

A wire brush does work pretty well. I have a bit of that in my future as well.
