Op- what is your set up, what is your rwhp, and what are your final goals- why do you have a 258 2c in there now- were you running a lot more power before? if your increasing rwhp you don't need to go to a 245mm you need to stay with the 258. I have a 245 5c and it is to loose - for a track only car maybe- but it is tricky to get the trans really dialed in with that loose of a converter- you wasting hp to get down the track- my car 60's decent but doesn't mph the greatest(stilling dialing in trans lock up and shifts.)
your signature shows your older rides not your current setups . All else fails call chris at circle d- and if these converters are used I reconmend sending them back to circle d and have them give them a once over while it is out.

Vortech car. Goals are mid/low 1.30 60fts. Previous owner put the 258mm in the car and It's WAY to tight for the car for my liking with 1.45 60fts and 149mph back door. (Unlocked) Chris and Beefcake both recommend 245 4c.

Well chris would know- I was going to get my 5c tighten but when I build the short block this winter I was going to add a couple hundred hp and they told me I should switch to a 258 when above 850 + rwhp. I am currently just running 1.40-1.41 and stuck at 10.0's because of locking issue of converter in the tune( getting fixed next week) I am running out of rpm and am hitting the rev limiter- converter not being locked is costing me about 800 rpm. I am assuming you are running 9.20's ish and are looking to see the 8's. good luck- obvious beef and chris should know the best- you footbraking only or running a 2step- or a transbrake. with a 1.45 I am assuming you are just fb ing it.

footbraking. Chris said 4c is good, said you can see a little slippage above 1000+rwhp. Beefcake said they've been 1.36 foot braking in a 4000lb car at 1200rwhp.

makes more sense now- I figured if you were running 149 in the 1/4 you had to be around 850ish rwhp and that 60' was seeming soft for a car with that much hp. Do you want to sell that 258/2c??????

Sorry. Its sold already.
^^^ lol you don't understand the MS boys yet.. The car is making power, he's bs-ing
:D

Why not tb and 2 step? Should get you some more rpm and a lower 60.
Still don't think it would have allowed my much more rpm. With it locked up with would drop 2500 3-4th shift. Beefcake said 2step would slow me down.

Why would it slow you down? I don't get it. It just helps hold Rpms steady on launch?

Was the 60' any better since it was a no prep or did you just see gain on average in the first 330- Your making some steam mph wise.
