I know a lot of us work on cars for a living or at least work on our own stuff. I was thinking maybe start a thread on pix of your tool box/tool cart combo? I just received my Snap On cart in Extreme Green and love it. Way nicer then the Matco one I had a few years back. and if someone can tell me ow to post pix I def will:)

Everyone does realize that there are just 3 tool box manufacturers in this country every one draws from? They all get their boxes from the same sources and then add some things to make them "tailored" for the company selling them to the public and mark them up. That includes Snap-on, Mac, Matco, Craftsman, and many others. If you really examine the boxes up close you can see this.

My Box is the same as many others out there for much more than I paid for it. I just cant see owing a huge debt to one of the truck tool guys and I am a professional aircraft mechanic.

I'm finally buying a house, and with that I will have space for some tool boxes. I am not interested in a $5000 tool box, but I want something decent... suggestions?

And you know this how? How did you find the magic secret, and what kind of box do you have?

I'll admit to hear-say but I got that from a guy that was a Mac tool dealer that also used to vend Snap-on, and I even asked another Snap-On vender about it later on and he also told me the same thing. Thats 2 independant sources. My Box came from Sam's and it was a box they were discontinuing so I got it at a bargain. Nice box. I have seen the same box with other company names on it for 4X what I paid for mine.

I know for a fact that your sources are wrong. Snap-On makes there own boxes in Alogona, Iowa, Matco in New York. Not sure about Mac.

Great Youtube video out there from How it's made for the Snap On Boxes. Show's them from the rolled out Steel to finished product.

Crappy cell phone pic... but, my Snap-On box. Made my living from this box for many years.

Harbor Freight has surprising good tool boxes and tool carts. The red ones. I would buy those.

Yea the Epic is by far the best toolbox I have seen and dealt with. The quality of the box is amazing and everything just works so smoothly!

Crappy pic of My snapon master series. Gunmetal grey with carbon fiber drawer inlays. Thinking about adding a power bank to the right side.
And sorry georgiasnake, snap on makes their own boxes.
